Hormone Replacement Therapy
Restore balance, vitality, and quality of life through personalized hormone optimization
Understanding Hormone Replacement Therapy
Hormones are the body's chemical messengers, controlling virtually every function from energy and metabolism to mood, sleep, and sexual function. As we age, hormone levels naturally decline, leading to symptoms that significantly impact quality of life.
Our approach to HRT is rooted in precision medicine. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all protocols. Through comprehensive testing and evaluation, we identify whether a hormone deficiency is present and, when it is, create a personalized treatment plan using FDA-approved or, where appropriate, compounded medications.

Whether you're experiencing symptoms of andropause (male menopause), perimenopause, or menopause, or simply noticing age-related hormonal decline, our HRT programs are designed to address symptoms of a confirmed hormone deficiency. We provide ongoing lab monitoring and dose adjustments, and we are candid when hormone therapy is not the right answer for what you are experiencing.
Areas Hormone Therapy May Address

Our HRT Process
Comprehensive Health Assessment
We begin with an in-depth evaluation of your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and health goals to understand your unique situation.
Advanced Hormone Testing
Comprehensive lab work measures your current hormone levels, including testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormones, and other key biomarkers.
Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on your test results and symptoms, we design a customized protocol and choose the delivery method that fits you. Your provider will explain whether each medication is FDA-approved or compounded.
Treatment Implementation
We provide detailed guidance on your treatment protocol, including dosing, administration, possible side effects, and what to expect.
Ongoing Monitoring & Optimization
Regular follow-ups and lab testing track your response and safety markers. We adjust as needed and address any concerns.
Types of Hormone Therapy We Offer
Testosterone Replacement
For men with clinically low testosterone confirmed by lab work and symptoms, we offer injections, topical preparations, and pellets. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance and requires ongoing monitoring.
Estrogen & Progesterone
Estrogen and progesterone therapy for women with perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms, after evaluation of personal and family history.
Thyroid Evaluation
Thyroid testing as part of every panel, and treatment of diagnosed hypothyroidism when indicated.
DHEA & Pregnenolone
These precursor hormones may be considered when lab work shows a deficiency and your provider determines it is appropriate.
Important Safety Information: Hormone Therapy
Hormone therapy is not right for everyone. Risks and side effects can include:
- Testosterone therapy: increased red blood cell count (which can raise clotting risk), suppression of sperm production and fertility, acne or oily skin, fluid retention, breast enlargement, worsening of sleep apnea, and changes in mood. Testosterone is not for men who are trying to conceive. Prostate and cardiovascular risk are discussed individually and monitored with labs.
- Estrogen and progesterone therapy: risks can include blood clots, stroke, gallbladder disease, and, depending on the regimen and your history, breast or uterine cancer. Your personal and family history determine whether it is appropriate.
- Compounded hormone preparations, including those marketed as "bioidentical," are not FDA-approved and have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. The FDA has stated that there is no evidence compounded hormones are safer or more effective than FDA-approved hormone products.
- All hormone therapy requires baseline and follow-up lab work. Skipping monitoring is not an option in our practice.
Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed. Tell your provider about all medical conditions, medications, and supplements before starting any treatment.
Prescription and Patient Information
Hormone therapy, peptide therapy, and GLP-1 medications are prescription treatments. They are prescribed only after an evaluation by a licensed Hill Tribe provider, including a review of your medical history and lab work, and only when your provider determines that treatment is medically appropriate for you. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription.
Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. It is prescribed and monitored in accordance with federal law and Florida law.
Some medications we prescribe are compounded. Compounded medications are prepared for an individual patient by a state-licensed pharmacy and are not FDA-approved products. Your provider will tell you whether a medication is compounded or FDA-approved and why it was chosen for you. Prescriptions are filled by licensed pharmacies; Hill Tribe does not sell prescription medication online.
Hill Tribe provides in-office care at our Tampa clinic and telehealth care to adults located in Florida. Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed.
