Medical Weight Loss
Provider-supervised weight loss programs that may include prescription GLP-1 medication when medically appropriate

A Medical Approach to Weight Loss
Weight loss is not just about willpower—it's about biology. At Hill Tribe, we understand that sustainable weight loss requires addressing the complex hormonal, metabolic, and physiological factors that regulate your body weight.
GLP-1 receptor agonist medications are one option in medical weight loss. They work by mimicking a natural gut hormone that regulates appetite and slows digestion. They are prescription medications with real side effects, and they are prescribed only when your evaluation shows they are appropriate.
Unlike fad diets or quick-fix solutions, our program addresses the root causes of weight gain. We create personalized treatment plans that combine GLP-1 therapy with nutritional guidance, lifestyle coaching, and ongoing medical monitoring. This comprehensive approach is designed to help you lose weight and build the habits that support keeping it off. Results depend on the medication, your dose, your adherence, and your individual biology.

Important Note
GLP-1 medications are prescription treatments that require an evaluation by a licensed provider and ongoing medical supervision. During your consultation, we'll determine whether you are a candidate based on your medical history, current health status, and lab work. Not every patient is a candidate, and a consultation does not guarantee a prescription. If a compounded GLP-1 medication is recommended, your provider will explain that it is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for you individually and is not an FDA-approved product, and is not a substitute for or equivalent to a brand-name medication.
Important Safety Information: GLP-1 Medications
Semaglutide and tirzepatide carry the following warnings and risks:
- Boxed warning: risk of thyroid C-cell tumors was seen in rodent studies. These medications must not be used by anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2.
- Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney injury from dehydration, severe stomach problems, low blood sugar (especially with other diabetes medications), and allergic reactions. Vision changes have been reported in patients with diabetes.
- Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, and fatigue, most often when the dose is increased.
- These medications should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Rapid weight loss can include loss of muscle mass; protein intake and resistance training are part of every plan we build.
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved, are not generic versions of Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound, and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. The FDA has received reports of dosing errors with compounded products; we teach you exactly how to measure your dose.
You will receive full medication guidance and sign an informed consent before treatment begins. Report side effects to us at 813-544-8950.
Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed. Tell your provider about all medical conditions, medications, and supplements before starting any treatment.
Prescription and Patient Information
Hormone therapy, peptide therapy, and GLP-1 medications are prescription treatments. They are prescribed only after an evaluation by a licensed Hill Tribe provider, including a review of your medical history and lab work, and only when your provider determines that treatment is medically appropriate for you. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription.
Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. It is prescribed and monitored in accordance with federal law and Florida law.
Some medications we prescribe are compounded. Compounded medications are prepared for an individual patient by a state-licensed pharmacy and are not FDA-approved products. Your provider will tell you whether a medication is compounded or FDA-approved and why it was chosen for you. Prescriptions are filled by licensed pharmacies; Hill Tribe does not sell prescription medication online.
Hill Tribe provides in-office care at our Tampa clinic and telehealth care to adults located in Florida. Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed.
